Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated hydrogeology professional to join our team and play a pivotal role in maintaining the integrity of the mine.

This role will oversee activities in collaboration with technical services and project management teams, while also leading the hydrogeological program to ensure contemporary systems and risk controls are in place.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert technical advice on mine and rehabilitation activities to ensure site safety and stability.
  • Lead routine monitoring and analysis, including groundwater routines, weight balance analysis, and data management.
  • Scope and coordinate drilling activities and technical studies contributing to mine infrastructure rehabilitation and regulatory processes.
  • Manage and review consultant designs and proposals.
  • Identify geotechnical and hydrogeological hazards, implementing effective risk management controls and response plans.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Tertiary degree in hydrogeology, engineering, geology or a relevant discipline.

You will also have:

  • Proven expertise in hydrogeology within a mining context, with a strong grasp of groundwater systems and geotechnical interactions.
  • In-depth technical understanding of mining operations specific to the region.
  • Familiarity with the regulatory landscape governing mining and environmental management in the region.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and industry-standard hydrogeological software tools.
