Asset Backed Products Associate

Societe Generale Corporate & Investment Banking (SG CIB) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Associate – Asset Backed Products to join our Global Banking & Advisory (GLBA) division in Sydney, Australia.

As an Associate – Asset Backed Products, you will be responsible for supporting the origination and structuring of asset-backed products, including securitised products, trade receivables, and structured loans. You will work closely with our experienced team of asset-backed products practitioners to develop and execute client pitches, credit and cash flow modelling, risk analysis, and ongoing portfolio and transaction management.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting origination and structuring efforts;
  • Preparing client pitches and other marketing materials;
  • Credit and cash flow modelling and preparing credit and other internal approval requests;
  • Deal execution both internally and externally in the context of public securitisation transactions;
  • Conducting client due diligence and managing client onboarding;
  • Portfolio and business performance reporting; and
  • Other ad hoc business and transaction specific requirements.

As part of your role within Asset Backed Products, you will interact with other SG teams such as Risk, Legal, Compliance, Client Coverage, Syndicate, Trading and Sales, on and offshore, to name a few. You will also work alongside other local client-facing teams including Infrastructure, Energy, Metals and Mining, Debt Capital Markets, Real Estate and Financial Institutions and Corporate Coverage.

Qualifications, Experience & Knowledge Required:

  • Tertiary qualification in Finance, Commerce, Economics, Law, Accounting, Science or Engineering. Other qualifications may be considered subject to demonstrating genuine interest in Finance and relevant experience.
  • Asset backed products related experience of 3-5 years (experience in frequent public securitisation transaction execution would be an advantage)
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills (including securitisation cash flow modelling)
  • Experience in efficiently managing multiple tasks and working in a collaborative team environment
