Job Summary

As a market risk professional, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing traded market risk across interest rate and FX. This is a high-impact position that requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage traded market risk across interest rate and FX
  • Apply advanced market risk skills in a dynamic team environment
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to monitor market risk exposure, support enhancements to risk models, and ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks
  • Review financial market trading activity and assess key risk metrics
  • Identify emerging risks, document portfolio exposures, and ensure risk frameworks are practical and future-fit

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of traded market risk concepts, including Value at Risk (VaR), sensitivities, and stress testing
  • Interest or experience in interest rate and FX products, and their underlying dynamics
  • Knowledge of relevant regulatory frameworks, such as APS116 in Australia
  • Comfort working with complex systems; experience with Murex or similar platforms is advantageous
  • Technical fluency in Python, SQL, R, or VBA is beneficial but not essential
  • Sharp written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex concepts into clear and concise language
