We are seeking a highly skilled Chef to join our team at YE OLDE CAFE MOONTA BAY in South Australia. As a renowned establishment, we offer authentic Indian cuisine in a vibrant and stylish atmosphere. This Senior Indian Cuisine Cook role involves:

  • Maintaining exceptional quality control over dishes throughout preparation and presentation
  • Planning menus, estimating costs, and ordering food supplies to ensure seamless operations
  • Ensuring fresh ingredients are served to customers by regularly assessing food quality
  • Understanding kitchen equipment, checking temperatures, and maintaining optimal hygiene standards
  • Cooking a variety of Asian dishes, including Indian cuisine, while adhering to high-quality standards
  • Tasting food while cooking, applying suitable seasoning for favorable flavors
  • Preparing food for presentation, adding sauces or garnishes to enhance visual appeal
  • Storing food properly to prevent cross-contamination and maintain freshness
  • Preparing cooking ingredients and cutting food to required sizes
  • Understanding customers' special dietary needs to provide personalized service
  • Complying with food hygiene regulations and industry standards
  • Providing training and guidance to fellow staff members and new kitchen staff

To succeed in this role, you should possess:

· An AQF Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery

· At least 3 years of work experience in Indian cuisine

· A positive attitude and ability to work well with others

· Willingness to follow directions and ask questions when needed

· Good interpersonal and communication skills

· Ability to multitask and handle stress in a fast-paced environment

· Willingness to commit beyond normal working hours as required

Annual Salary: AUD 72,000 - 82,000
