About NRM

NRM is a leading environmental organisation dedicated to preserving our planet's natural resources. We're tackling the twin crises of climate change and biodiversity loss through innovative solutions that balance human needs with nature's.

In Australia, NRM has grown significantly since 2002, conducting projects in all states and territories. Our work focuses on four conservation strategies: Outback, Oceans, Nature and Agricultural Landscapes, and Protection. We're working towards ambitious targets, including protecting 30% of our oceans and lands by 2030.

About the Role

We're seeking an experienced Coastal Restoration Coordinator to join our team. This two-year fixed contract role will coordinate and advance significant coastal habitat restoration projects in Victoria, with potential support for similar projects in New South Wales and Tasmania.

As a key member of our national team, you'll work closely with team members to restore imperilled marine habitats, mitigate coastal erosion, and develop restorative aquaculture initiatives. You'll engage with various stakeholders, including communications, business development, and finance teams, to achieve project objectives collaboratively.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate project planning, including compiling management plans and interfacing with TNC's Smartsheets project management system
  • Undertake budget management, including forecasts and tracking
  • Lead and support the implementation of restoration projects, including convening governance arrangements, securing necessary permits, contractor procurement, contracting, and overseeing delivery restoration works
  • Oversee the delivery of the Shuck Don't Chuck shell recycling project
  • Project reporting, including to donors and regulators
  • Lead and support community and stakeholder engagement, including with Indigenous groups

About You

We're looking for someone with experience in project coordination, budget management, and stakeholder engagement. A strong understanding of coastal restoration and marine conservation principles is essential. You should be able to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
