About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate and collaborative Occupational Therapist to join our headspace team at Cranbourne West Secondary. This part-time (0.6 FTE) ongoing position offers flexible working days and the opportunity to work with students to ensure they can successfully engage and participate in their education.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with students to identify sensory processing and/or sensory modulation difficulties and create class implementation plans for teachers to respond to.
- Teach emotional regulation skills to students and facilitate social skills training and communication skills training (individual and groups).
- Manage a caseload of students and collaborate with multiple stakeholders, including Child protection, tertiary services, Youth Justice, and other mental health community services.
Requirements
- Minimum of tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy and AHPRA registration.
- Sound knowledge of current theory and practice in occupational therapy.
- Highly developed listening and communication skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to manage own workload and set priorities without supervision.
