About this Role

Job Summary

The Assistant Director, Border Intelligence plays a critical role in managing a shift team, providing strategic support to key stakeholders and overseeing multiple analysts to meet workload demands.

This position ensures the collection of information, analysis and identification of threats at and post the Australian border, supporting the Division and Departmental objectives.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Mentorship and guidance for Team Leaders and Analysts on complex issues
  • Responding to analytical tasking and overseeing staff preparation of products and delivery of intelligence services
  • Representing Intelligence Division in a 24/7 capacity
  • Driving operational engagement and collaboration with stakeholders
  • Building strong relationships with key partners across the Department, ABF and domestic/international agencies
  • Ensuring timely and accurate intelligence advice that supports Divisional requirements and frontline staff needs
