As a professional with a passion for environmental stewardship, you will play a key role in supporting all aspects of the environment function for our Corporate Office.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting Specialist's and sites with the development and management of environmental work and projects within Water, Rehabilitation, Mine Closure, Biodiversity and Circular Economy and other environmental aspects.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Producing timely and accurate reports for the Environment Manager and Subject Matters Experts (SME)
  • Undertaking improvement projects in the Environment Plan & SusMinPlan initiatives
  • Supporting the development of key chapters required under the Global Investment Assurance (GIA) process in conjunction with Environment Manager and SME's
  • Providing assistance with LFI and A&I investigations and assist with developing corrective actions

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting sites where practical on short term basis
  • Providing support and assistance with the Environmental Management System (EMS) (ISO14001 and SHE Way)
  • Producing timely and accurate reports (e.g NPI, ABAS, internal performance reports)
  • Undertaking business and systems improvement projects in the Environment Plan

In order to be considered for this exciting opportunity, candidates should have:

  • A tertiary qualification in Environment or a related discipline
  • Knowledge of environmental issues relevant to the coal mining industry
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • High level of attention to detail and an ability to interpret data and problem solve
  • Ability to be able to work effectively and collaboratively in teams to achieve collective outcomes
  • Demonstrated initiative skills and a continuous improvement mindset
