Mental Health Support Specialist
About the Role:In this challenging and rewarding role, you will work with individuals in Melbourne's western suburbs who require behavioral support and community reintegration. Your experience working with complex needs and behaviors of concern will be invaluable in building strong relationships with our participants.
Key Responsibilities:- You will develop and implement tailored behavioral management strategies to support participants' growth and independence.
- You will coordinate social outings and community activities to foster connections and engagement.
- You will work collaboratively with participants under court orders to facilitate their successful reintegration into the community.
- You will establish and maintain professional boundaries while demonstrating empathy and understanding.
- You will provide assistance with personal care, daily living activities, and domestic tasks to enhance participants' quality of life.
- You will support participants in achieving self-care and social engagement goals, promoting overall well-being.
- You will maintain accurate records of participant progress and service delivery, ensuring transparency and accountability.
- You will administer medications and assist with meal preparation as required.
- You will apply your expertise to effectively manage behaviors of concern and create a safe environment for all participants.

Requirements:- Certificate III in Individual Support or a related qualification (Certificate IV preferred).
- Experience working with individuals exhibiting challenging or complex behaviors.
- Able to provide effective behavioral management and support strategies.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for report writing and documentation.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Valid NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working With Children's Check (or willingness to obtain).
- Current Australian Driver's License.
- Able to work independently and manage time effectively.
- A competitive salary package aligned with the SCHADS Award 2010 ($65,000 - $80,000 per annum).
$55-$70 hourly wage depending on level of experience. - Flexible working hours, including weekday, evening, weekend, and overnight shifts.
