About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Operations Specialist to join our Brisbane office. In this role, you will be responsible for providing Trust Accounting compliance and accounts support, maintaining core system data, and ensuring compliance with risk management protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Daily bank reconciliation to ensure accurate financial records.
  • Managing trust receipting and payments, including settlement EFTs and cheques.
  • Maintaining and completing trust transit register forms in accordance with legislative requirements.
  • Managing controlled monies accounts and general ledger accounting.
  • Preparing monthly trust compliance reports and managing the National Trust mailbox.
  • Providing general back-up and assistance for all areas of general ledger accounting.
  • Performing ad hoc requests as required.

Requirements and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • A solid understanding of Trust accounting rules and legislative requirements.
  • A minimum of 2+ years of experience in a professional services environment, preferably in a legal setting.
  • Proven experience handling high-volume transactions with accuracy and diligence.
  • Familiarity with Practice Management Systems (Aderant Expert an advantage).
  • Excellent organisational skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage and prioritise high-volume workloads, especially during month-end periods.
  • Strong communication skills, demonstrated through effective communication with stakeholders at varying seniority levels.
  • Intermediate-level proficiency in MS Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.

About the Opportunity
