Insignia Financial is seeking a highly experienced Risk Director to join our team. This key leadership role plays a crucial part in ensuring a sound risk and compliance culture across Asset Management, Finance, and Insignia's ESG activities.

About the Role

As a senior member of our team, you will be responsible for leading a group of risk specialists in providing end-to-end Line 2 risk oversight to enable business objectives to be met in a safe and commercial manner. You will also act as a second-in-command to the General Manager Risk – Asset Management & Finance and provide guidance on implementing established risk frameworks.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Build and manage a high-performing Risk Management team, focusing on developing their skills and expertise.
  • Provide effective Line 2 review and challenge across Insignia's Asset Management, ESG, and Finance areas.
  • Offer expert risk management advice and support aligned with our risk frameworks.
  • Mentor and assist in the growth and development of team members.
  • Oversee business planning activities, regulatory requirements, compliance plans, change initiatives, incident and breach reporting, controls, and associated assessments/attestations.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with the business and other stakeholders.
  • Foster collaboration with other Risk Management functions to facilitate engagement.
  • Contribute to board/committee reporting and attend meetings as required.
Requirements
  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Commerce, Law, or relevant field (mandatory).
  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the asset management sector.
  • Knowledge of operational risk and compliance principles and frameworks.
  • Familiarity with ESG and Responsible Investing practices, regulations, and emerging risks.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead high-performing teams.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work in complex environments undergoing significant transformation.
  • Capacity to impart knowledge and experience through coaching and mentoring.
Salary and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this position is AU$170,000 - AU$220,000, depending on experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including flexible working arrangements, opportunities for professional growth and development, and a supportive work environment.
