Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Project Officer to join our team as a Medical Workforce Development Officer. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing a medical trainee data collection framework, collaborating with the SA MET Medical Education Team, and coordinating the annual recruiting and allocation of Interns and Trainee Medical Officers across public hospitals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop a medical trainee data collection framework for medical workforce training, planning, and analysis locally and internationally.
  • Collaborate with the SA MET Medical Education Team and coordinate the annual recruiting and allocation of Interns and Trainee Medical Officers.
  • Develop and implement evaluation procedures for the recruitment and allocation process.
  • Process and manage Area of Need applications and respond to queries related to the recruitment of International Medical Graduates.
  • Develop high-quality Ministerial briefings and public responses.
  • Provide ongoing project and administrative support to the Director SA MET Unit, Manager Medical Training, and the Chief Medical Officer.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • A strong analytical background, including strategic and statistical skills.
  • The ability to work semi-independently and prepare written reports.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
