Renewable Energy Project Originator

This is an excellent opportunity for a renewable energy enthusiast who is keen to learn, with 2+ years experience in the field of renewable development.

The role contributes to the origination and early-stage development of renewable projects (wind, PV and BESS) by providing support in site identification, screening, land access agreements, grid connection solution and early-stage planning processes. Community and stakeholder engagement is a key element to this role as is the ability to build a robust business case for greenfield prospect sites.

  • The ideal candidate will have strong project management skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • You will be responsible for supporting the Head of Origination and assisting the Head of Development to progress projects from site identification through to feasibility/planning studies.
  • You will also be responsible for providing technical information and reports to support the development process.
  • In addition, you will need to negotiate landowner agreements, legal dealings, and other correspondence as required.
  • You will also support the management of external consultants to undertake studies throughout the development process.
  • Furthermore, you will need to consult with local and/or State planning authorities, other regulators, general public, landowners, and other stakeholders.
  • You will provide on-ground support for project needs across environmental approvals, stakeholders, and land access functions.
  • You will work together with members of the technical team to support the electrical grid connection process.
  • Finally, you will provide continued support to projects during pre-construction as required.

Key Requirements:

  • 2+ years experience in renewable energy development
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication and negotiation skills
  • Knowledge of grid connection solutions and early-stage planning processes
