Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic team. As an Occupational Therapist at our institution, you will play a vital role in facilitating independence in daily living activities and enhancing the quality of life for patients.

About the Role
  • You will be responsible for assessing and treating patients to facilitate their independence in ADL and quality of life.
  • Your discharge planning responsibilities will include home visits, provision of aids/modifications, and referral to other services in the community as required.
  • You will also refer patients to groups or other disciplines within the hospital, attend case conferences and family meetings, and communicate with program coordinators regarding funding/length of stay issues.
  • Liaising with other team members regarding patient care and therapy time tabling is also an essential part of this role.
  • You will be required to document OT intervention, assistive device/home modification prescription, and complete case management plans and discharge summaries.
Key Requirements
  • Bachelor of Applied Sciences in Occupational Therapy or equivalent and eligibility to join AAOT are essential requirements.
  • You must be fully registered with AHPRA and have neurological rehabilitation experience, if applicable.
  • Sound clinical judgement and clinical reasoning skills are critical to success in this role.
  • Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication, as well as exceptional customer service skills, are essential.
  • You should have proven ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, with superior time management and organisational skills.
