Key Role: ICT Resourcing Specialist

This is a unique opportunity to work in an organisation that is transforming its technology services.

The ICT Resourcing Specialist will be responsible for leading the planning and allocation of Technology resources across various initiatives. They will collaborate with Solution Delivery Leads, Solution Architects, Developers, Testers, and other domain specialists to ensure balanced resource commitments.

Responsibilities include:

  • Working closely with resource managers to provide transparency of resource allocation and facilitate allocation of technical resources against demands.
  • Defining and maintaining a comprehensive register regarding availability and skills of resources.
  • Facilitating capacity planning to ensure technology resources have sufficient capacity to work on upcoming projects.
  • Refining resource allocation models to ensure a balanced portfolio against current and future demands.
  • Developing and maintaining a resource plan with middle- to long-term resource demand forecasts.
  • Reviewing the resource plan and identifying potential availability issues.
  • Ensuring accurate understanding and reflection of resource requirements for correct utilisation of resources.
  • Collaborating with delivery teams' resource managers to identify external IT resource needs.
  • Developing proposals to address shortfalls, conflicts, and skill gaps, working closely with the Manager Technology Portfolio.
  • Overcoming resource shortages through resource management techniques, reallocating resources, or assigning additional staff as required.
  • Developing and operating a repository of historical projects and building models for efficient and accurate estimation of resources for projects.

Requirements include:

  • Post-Graduate qualifications in information technology or relevant industry experience.
  • Formal study preferably in project management, Agile, or software development.
  • Strong knowledge of Excel, SharePoint, and ICT resourcing and estimation techniques.
  • Previous experience planning and co-ordinating technology resources balanced against operational needs.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills.
