Job Title: Strategic ICT Procurement Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Strategic ICT Procurement Specialist to join our team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of strategic analysis, procurement planning, strategy development, and implementation within our business function.

The successful candidate will play a key part in providing expert advice and guidance to stakeholders across all levels of the organization as well as meeting whole-of-government requirements.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Designing, developing, and implementing effective procurement plans based on organizational objectives and goals.
  • Identifying appropriate sourcing pathways for ICT product/service procurements ranging from small through large projects.
  • Engaging in early market intelligence research to determine the best approach for specific procurement activities.
  • Developing strategies for cost-effective purchase optimization that meets organizational needs without compromising quality or service level agreements.
  • Analyzing data related to project costs, resources, timelines, and other factors to ensure successful completion within budget parameters.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant laws, policies, and regulations related to public sector ICT procurements.
  • Negotiating contracts, terms & conditions with external vendors; monitoring vendor performance; managing supplier relationships; resolving conflicts in accordance with agreed strategies.
  • Assisting in tender preparation activities such as drafting specifications documents; evaluating tenders; preparing evaluation reports; managing pre-qualification processes; etc.

Requirements:

  • A degree or diploma in a relevant field such as business administration, ICT, finance, or supply chain management.
  • A minimum 5 years' experience working in a similar capacity including procurement planning and strategy development & implementation.
  • Excellent negotiation skills combined with strong analytical capabilities.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of public sector procurement processes & procedures including applicable laws & regulations related to ICT procurements.
