Role Overview

We are currently seeking skilled individuals for various positions within our Catering team at our Somerton facilities. Reporting directly to the Executive Chef - Operations, you will play a crucial role in preparing food items in a production kitchen, adhering to established specifications and recipes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook food items according to specified recipes and standards, ensuring timely food preparation within designated schedules.
  • Inspect all materials and ingredients to guarantee they are utilized before expiration.
  • Maintain cleanliness in all food preparation areas at all times.
  • Oversee the activities of Catering Assistants and less experienced chefs in your designated section.
  • Ensure compliance with sanitation services, waste disposal, and chilling systems in accordance with the Gate Gourmet HACCP plan.
  • Prepare reports and documentation as necessary.
  • Promote a safe working environment consistently.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in a bulk cooking environment is highly preferred.
  • Background in food manufacturing is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Vocational training in culinary arts and related hygiene courses is highly desirable.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to work across a 7-day roster.

Note: This operation does not run 24 hours, and there are no split shifts.
