The WA Country Health Service (WACHS) is a significant health provider in Australia and one of the biggest globally.

We deliver comprehensive health services across an expansive area of more than 2.5 million square kilometres to approximately half a million people, including over 57,000 Aboriginal people.

We have six large regional hospitals, 15 medium-sized district hospitals, and 48 small hospitals. Additionally, there are 31 health centres and nursing posts, four dedicated mental health inpatient units, 24 dedicated mental health services, and over 170 other facilities where population health teams are based.


Job Summary:

The Chief Finance Officer will provide strategic, timely, and accurate advice on financial and budget matters to senior stakeholders. This role ensures that our financial and budget management processes align with the whole-of-health governance framework and meet all compliance and accountability requirements.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development and implementation of financial reform and business improvement strategies.
  • Provide strong partnerships for financial and budget management across WACHS.
  • Ensure WACHS financial and budget management processes are congruent with the whole-of-health governance framework, meet all compliance and accountability requirements, and provide a robust basis for decisions about resource allocation to meet planned service and other business outcomes.
