Business Development Director Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Business Development Director to lead our national business development strategy across civil infrastructure and transport in Australia.

About the Role:

  • Owning and executing the firm's national business development strategy across civil infrastructure and transport.
  • Building lasting partnerships with clients, consultants, and government stakeholders.
  • Leading and shaping pursuits, proposals, and project positioning strategies alongside technical leaders.
  • Attending conferences, industry and networking events to elevate market presence and brand influence.
  • Working closely with senior leadership to ensure all initiatives align with commercial objectives and long-term vision.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Developing and executing a comprehensive business development strategy that drives growth and revenue.
  2. Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities across civil infrastructure and transport.
  3. Building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, consultants, and government agencies.
  4. Providing strategic guidance and support to cross-functional teams to deliver successful project outcomes.
  5. Maintaining a deep understanding of market trends, competitor activity, and client needs to inform business development decisions.

Requirements:

  • A passion for business development and a proven track record of success in building strategic partnerships.
  • Relevant Bachelor's degree, either in business or engineering.
  • Proven ability to integrate commercial and technical aspects of engineering projects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
