About the Role

Our organization is seeking an experienced mental health professional to fill a vital position in our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) Centralised Intake team.

The CAMHS Centralised Intake team provides assessment and treatment services for young people aged 0-17 years, along with their families/carers residing within the Hunter New England Local Health District.

As a clinician, you will engage with young individuals, carers, and service providers via telephone/virtual care to ensure timely access to suitable services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough bio-psycho-social-cultural and mental health risk assessments for young individuals referred to the service.
  • Make informed clinical decisions in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Effectively utilize systems such as IPM and Medchart.
Requirements:
  • A must-have qualification is a degree in Occupational Therapy, Nursing, Social Work, or Counselling (Bachelor of Health Science Mental Health, Djirruwang Program).
  • For appointment at Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2: relevant post-registration qualifications and a minimum of 3 years' experience working in the specified clinical area are required.
