**About the Opportunity**

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the **Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS)**team as a** Clinician,**where you will be responsible for:

- Delivering direct child and adolescent mental health care for consumers with complex eating disorder needs, in line with the National Mental Health Policy and Standards for Mental Health Services.
- Providing services at the Youth Court, Kurlana Tapa Youth Justice Centre, and participating in periodic after-hours work, including Saturdays.
- Accepting accountability for clinical practice outcomes and addressing inconsistencies between practice and policy for children, adolescents, and their families involved in the forensic system.
- Ensuring accountability for personal practice standards and activities delegated to others.
- Conducting assessments, education, counseling, and group work to support consumer health and recovery.
- Consulting and liaising with other professional disciplines and non-governmental organizations to ensure comprehensive care.
- Providing direction, support, orientation, and education to other staff using clinical knowledge, skills, and experience.
- Leading and participating in action research projects, quality improvement activities, and policy development within the practice setting.

**About You**

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Registered or eligible for registration as a nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate. Must be enrolled in an approved mental health course or hold a qualification in mental health practice.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct mental health assessment and therapeutic interventions of a complex nature with children, adolescents with eating disorders and /OR emotional and behavioural difficulties
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to work with individuals and families for positive mental health outcomes and to foster productive working relationships across disciplines
- Demonstrated ability to work and contribute positively in a team environment
- Demonstrated initiative, flexibility and creativity
- Demonstrated commitment to providing a quality client centred service to the patient
- Ability to lead and motivate staff to achieve positive outcomes.
