Clinical Skills Educator

The University of Wollongong is seeking a Senior Lecturer, Clinical Skills to join the Graduate School of Medicine. This is a critical role in developing and implementing teaching and learning experiences for medical students focused on clinical skills and competencies related to patient care.
The successful candidate will collaborate with an interprofessional team to design curriculum and learning experiences, facilitate small group teaching, and assess Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs) with clinical and assessment leads. They will also contribute to the ongoing review and development of the structure and content of the Clinical Skills teaching program and student assessments.
To be successful in this role, you will hold current APHRA registration as a medical practitioner with Fellowship and/or Vocational Registration (or eligibility for same) and have recent active clinical practice in Australia. You will have a solid understanding of contemporary clinical practice standards and the clinical competence required for the safe practice of medicine. An interest in medical education and a commitment to contributing to scholarship and research in clinical skills education are also essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement teaching and learning experiences for medical students
- Collaborate with an interprofessional team to develop curriculum and learning experiences
- Facilitate small group teaching and assess Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs)
- Contribute to the ongoing review and development of the Clinical Skills teaching program
Requirements:
- Current APHRA registration as a medical practitioner
- Fellowship and/or Vocational Registration (or eligibility for same)
- Recent active clinical practice in Australia
- Solid understanding of contemporary clinical practice standards
