About the Role

We are seeking an experienced leader to fill the position of Head of School. This strategic leadership role is focused on implementing governance processes and reviewing internal school processes for students with disabilities across identified sites.

This position requires collaboration with multiple schools, including Lockhart State School, Kowanyama State School, and Pormpuraaw State School, involving travel to these sites. The successful candidate will be passionate about inclusive education and system improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with Principals, Deputy Principals, Heads of Special Education, and teachers to ensure effective implementation of governance processes.
  • Develop relationships with QLD Health, NDIA, and external providers to build a network of support for students with disabilities.
  • Scope potential alternatives to using the NCCD as the sole staffing model for students with disabilities.
  • Provide targeted support to schools to maintain accurate NCCD data and implement adjustments to support students with disabilities.
  • Embed processes to facilitate the engagement of students with disabilities in learning.

Desired Project Outcomes

  • Review current systems and processes at all stages of the NCCD data collection to identify areas for improvement.
  • Build relationships with QLD Health, NDIA, and other external providers to enhance support for students with disabilities.
  • Review current information-sharing and parental consent processes to streamline and improve efficiency.
  • Determine potential ways to cut red tape and simplify administrative tasks.
