Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to join our team as a Consultant specializing in Tax Policy and Controversy.

This role involves providing expert advice to clients on tax matters, focusing on technical and tactical management. The successful candidate will be responsible for advising corporates and high-net-worth individuals on developing and documenting their tax corporate governance processes and testing the operational effectiveness of their tax corporate governance framework.

  • Providing strategic guidance to clients on tax administration matters, participating in dispute resolution processes, and assisting clients in responding to requests for information in ATO reviews and audits.
Key Responsibilities

The Consultant — Tax Controversy & Policy will be responsible for:

  • Drafting objections, private binding ruling requests, requests for amended assessments, and submissions against penalties.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:

  • A law degree and admission to practice.
  • Tax technical skills or the ability to acquire them quickly.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with clients and the ability to provide high client service.
  • The capacity to work with multiple clients and internal stakeholders on deadlines.
