Community Policy Specialist

The role of Community Policy Specialist is a highly rewarding position that requires strong policy research and development skills. This individual will work closely with various stakeholders to ensure effective representation of Local Governments in social policy and community development.

This specialist will be responsible for undertaking thorough policy analysis, contributing to the development of policy positions and submissions, representing the sector on committees and working groups, and coordinating events and workshops which engage the sector.

To excel in this role, you will need an excellent understanding of policy development, knowledge of social policy and community development, and a good understanding of Local Government roles, responsibilities, and decision making processes.

You will have the ability to interact with and influence a diverse range of stakeholders and be able to write comprehensive reports, plans, and submissions across a variety of policy priorities.

Required Skills and Qualifications

This role requires a strategic thinker who can undertake research and analysis and engage with stakeholders to develop sector positions on key policy matters. You will need:

  • Strong interpersonal, research, and project management skills
