The Healthcare Security Officer role involves ensuring the safety and security of hospital premises, including parking areas, hallways, patient rooms, entrances, and exits.
This is a rotational shift position with varied working hours, including 0700-1900/1900-0700. The selected candidate will be required to obtain a Security License for the province of Nova Scotia.
The ideal candidate will possess valid Standard First Aid & CPR - Level C certification and fluency in English (oral and written). Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field is preferred.
Key Responsibilities- Patrol Hospital Grounds: Conduct regular rounds of hospital premises to ensure safety and security.
- Monitor Surveillance Systems: Operate security cameras and alarm systems to identify suspicious activity.
- Access Control: Monitor and control entry points to the hospital, ensuring authorized access to restricted areas.
- Respond to Emergencies: Act quickly in emergency situations, such as medical emergencies, fire alarms, or security threats.
- Provide Customer Service: Greet and assist visitors, patients, and hospital staff.
- Conflict Resolution: De-escalate tense situations and resolve conflicts professionally.
- Report Writing: Document daily activities, incidents, or accidents accurately.
- Security License for the province of Nova Scotia
- Valid Standard First Aid & CPR - Level C certification
- English fluency (oral and written)
- Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field
