
Senior Actuarial Expert

We are seeking an experienced Actuary to join our team as a senior member of the Actuarial function. The role offers opportunities for process improvements, collaboration with APAC and Europe Actuarial teams, and expansion of skillset in actuarial career.
The successful candidate will have 5 years of general insurance experience and will be responsible for managing and delivering all aspects of the Actuarial function.
- Key Responsibilities:
- An annual and quarterly evaluation of financial performance.
- The preparation of financial conditioning reports and financial plans.
- A review of capital levels.
- Producing office portfolio monitoring reports.
- Providing explanations relating to regulatory and regional reserving.
- Working with local stakeholders (Underwriting, Claims, Finance) to understand and interpret the business and to explain actuarial decisions.
- Support ad hoc with IFRS17 and review of reinsurance arrangements.
- Collaboration with the APAC and Europe Actuarial team.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Actuarial Experience: 5 years of relevant experience within the non-life insurance industry.
- Tertiary Qualifications: Degree required, preferably in Actuarial studies and qualification with the Institute of Actuaries of Australia (or equivalent).
- Business Acumen: An understanding of translating actuarial output into business value.
- Communication: The ability to clearly communicate so stakeholders understand the practical implications of our analyses.
- Software: Proficiency in commonly used actuarial software packages.
- Planning and Organisation: An ability to manage multiple tasks and outputs. Assist in planning tasks and deliverables and prioritising.
- Stakeholder Management: Able to work with, and influence stakeholders at all levels both locally and remotely.
- Delivery Outcome: The ability to delivery under pressure.
- Autonomy: Enjoys working autonomously as part of a team.
- Working Rights: You must have Australian permanent working rights.
