Actuarial Expert

As an actuarial expert, you will be responsible for driving technical excellence and contributing to the development, pricing, and ongoing evaluation of travel insurance products tailored to the unique needs of Australian travellers. Your analytical skills and attention to detail will help us navigate the complexities of the insurance landscape and maintain our position as a trusted provider in the Australian market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead pricing, underwriting and optimisation activities related to new opportunities and existing business in Australia and New Zealand, partnering closely with Product, Commercial and Partnership teams, and relevant teams in Australia and Global.
  • Periodically review the pricing structure of travel insurance products and recommend changes based on analysis of performance of different customer segments.
  • Ensure compliance with local and Global underwriting guidelines and standards.
  • Create, run and analyse, technical performance reports.
  • Lead regular reporting and providing recommendations with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support portfolio management and forecasting activities.
  • Lead the development and implementation of BI tools and reporting.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Qualified actuary.
  • 3-5 years relevant actuarial work experience in insurance industry. Preferably experience pricing.
  • Experience in travel insurance industry is nice to have.
  • Excellent data analytic, communication and problem-solving skills is required.
  • Experience and willingness to operate in global organisations.

Role Requirements:

A newly or nearly qualified actuary with 3-5 years relevant experience in the insurance industry, preferably with pricing experience, and excellent data analytic, communication and problem-solving skills.
