Job Summary

We are seeking a seasoned Automation Expert to lead our team in delivering high-quality automation solutions.

The successful candidate will be responsible for project management, scheduling, and technical leadership associated with implementation, maintenance, and optimization of Control Systems used in automation and process control.

This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced professional to leverage their expertise in Control Systems and take on a leadership role within our organization.

About the Role

The Automation Expert will be responsible for managing small internal teams and subcontractor teams, overseeing quality control processes, and providing troubleshooting and triage support.

This role integrates into a multi-disciplined team and is responsible for providing technical support services for automation and telemetry infrastructure.

The Automation Expert will manage specialist subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants to ensure that all works meet client-set response times and associated KPIs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead teams to ensure automation and telemetry infrastructure assets are appropriately maintained and operable.
  • Experienced use of asset management systems (desired)
  • Control System outage planning and managing internal and external requirements and associated stakeholders.
  • Developing project plans and scheduling of associated maintenance tasks to ensure appropriate resource allocation and timings are met.
  • Manage Total Cost of Maintenance (TCOM) budget for all Control Systems works.
  • Provide ongoing data analysis and expert guidance on real-time improvement.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to respond to Control Systems enquiries.
  • Lead the development/use of information and management systems for the delivery of operational activities and programs.
About You

You will possess:

  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience with Control Systems and/or related disciplines and how they integrate into an operational environment.
  • Ability to quickly pick-up differing software and hardware programming and configurations.
  • Qualification in Engineering i.e. Electrical Engineering Degree or Electrical Trade Certificate-3 or Certificate-4 (highly desired)
  • Experience in project management or contractor management highly desired
  • Valid QLD drivers license
  • Highly developed problem-solving, lateral thinking, communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Highly developed skills and experience in dealing with customer, stakeholder and regulator issues
  • Self-motivation and willingness to accept challenges & deliver assigned projects as a leader of a team, member of a team, or individual.
