We are seeking a committed and motivated swimming instructor to join our team at Wagga Wagga City Council.

The successful candidate will play a vital role in delivering our Learn to Swim program, which aims to equip participants with essential water safety skills and foster a lifelong love for swimming.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering engaging swim lessons for participants of various ages and abilities.
  • Providing individualised instruction and feedback to help participants develop proper swimming techniques and build confidence in the water.
  • Maintaining a safe and supportive learning environment, adhering to recognised safety standards and protocols.
  • Communicating effectively with participants and colleagues to provide updates on progress and schedules.
  • Maintaining accurate records of attendance, progress, and assessments.

Qualifications and experience:

We are looking for individuals who hold a Swim Teacher qualification from a recognised organisation, such as the Royal Life Saving Society Australia (RLSSA), Austswim Australia, or the Australian Swimming Coaches and Teachers Association.

Successful candidates will also require a Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate and a NSW Working with Children Check Clearance.

As part of the recruitment process, pre-employment checks will be conducted in line with the requirements of the position.
