CSSD Manager Job Description

Calvary is seeking an experienced CSSD Manager to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the daily operational management of the Central Sterile Supply Department (CSSD).

The CSSD Manager will work closely with the Perioperative Services Manager and will be accountable for ensuring standards, guidelines and legislative requirements are met. This includes developing a team-based environment, providing leadership and support to the CSSD team, and working in partnership with procedural and ward areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a team-based environment while providing leadership and support to the CSSD team.
  • Ensure standards, guidelines and legislative requirements are met.
  • Work in partnership with procedural and ward areas.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Considerable experience in CSSD management.
  • Demonstrated understanding of provision of CSSD services within a healthcare environment.
  • Sound knowledge of current CSSD policies, procedures and safe work practices.
  • Thorough understanding of Australian Standards, Guidelines and legislative requirements relating to sterilisation and risk management principles as they relate to CSSD.
  • Ability to motivate, inspire and lead staff to achieve service and professional goals.
  • Effective communication skills, including ability to liaise effectively at all levels of work and interact as part of a diverse professional team.
  • Formal qualifications in sterilisation.
  • Current Working with Vulnerable People Check or willingness to obtain.
  • Experience in data analysis and providing reports for senior executives.
