About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Automation Technologist to join our global manufacturing team at Philmac Pty Ltd (Australia). This is an exciting opportunity to lead the design and implementation of cutting-edge technology solutions that enhance manufacturing processes and ensure workforce safety.

As a Senior Automation Technologist, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and deployment of state-of-the-art automation technologies, addressing production challenges, optimising operations, and contributing to meeting both local and international market demands.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement advanced automation technologies to improve manufacturing efficiency and safety
  • Solve complex production issues through innovative technologies and techniques
  • Upgrade and integrate automated machinery from 3.0 to 4.0 technology and support integration into business processes
  • Manage Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (ASRS) and ensure effective day-to-day operation
Requirements
  • Engineering degree with a background in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics
  • 5 years of relevant functional experience in automation, machine learning techniques, and Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT)
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate business systems and solve complex technical challenges
  • Good design approach, curiosity, and strong learning mindset
  • Automation, and Mechatronics OR Trade Qualified Electrician with relevant skills and experience
