Job Title: Leadership Position - Strategic Solutions

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic professional to lead our defence consulting project and team in delivering strategic solutions that drive client success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a defence consulting project and team to deliver strategic solutions that drive client success, ensuring effective project execution and management of client relationships.
  • Oversight of project delivery, development of the team, and contribution to the growth of our decision support practice.
  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements, driving organisational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Development and maintenance of strong, trusted relationships with clients at all levels, fostering long-term partnerships and loyalty.
  • Ability to see the big picture while managing detailed tasks across the team, ensuring seamless project delivery and successful outcomes.
  • Anticipation of downstream impacts of decisions and advice accordingly, providing proactive and informed guidance to stakeholders.
  • Skill in supporting structured decision-making processes, utilising frameworks and logic to navigate uncertainty and complexity.
  • Bringing a systems thinking approach to help clients see the whole organisation, not just siloed views, and providing clear, well-reasoned advice that considers trade-offs, dependencies, and constraints.
  • Use of creativity and problem-solving skills to navigate uncertainty and develop innovative solutions.
  • Capability of simplifying complexity for stakeholders, communicating effectively and clearly to ensure shared understanding and alignment.
  • Comfortable leading discussions, eliciting input, and driving alignment among team members and stakeholders, guiding groups toward decisions and actions.
  • Skill in guiding teams through change and transition, ensuring a smooth and successful outcome.
  • Understanding of the ADF (RAAF) as an environment and sensitivity to organisational culture, politics, and pressures, enabling effective engagement and collaboration with clients.

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of experience in at least one of the following areas: defence or public service, consulting, program management, or business analysis.
  • Desirable experience in Defence IT projects, Power BI, SQL, Agile/Scrum, or other relevant tools and methodologies.
