The Registrar / Principal House Officer (PHO) provides medical services under the supervision of a Consultant Psychiatrist that are evidence-based, efficient, effective, and equitable to consumers within a public health setting.

Forensic and Secure Services offers specialist secure rehabilitation and forensic mental health care, including:

  • High Security Inpatient Service with 70 beds
  • Extended Forensic Treatment Rehabilitation Unit with 20 beds
  • Secure Mental Health Rehabilitation Unit with 34 beds
  • Prison Mental Health Services across 9 Correctional Centres
  • General Health Service provision
  • Specialist Mental Health Intellectual Disability Service (SMHIDS)

These services assess and treat individuals with mental disorders and criminal histories or risks.

To succeed in this role, you are expected to acquire necessary skills and knowledge to meet the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) and Australian Medical Board requirements for practicing as a specialist.
