About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Culinary Services Director to lead our kitchen team at Bupaoptical. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality, nutritious meals that meet the dietary needs of our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Food Service Operations: Oversee the efficient and high-quality functioning of the kitchen and catering service, ensuring that all meals are prepared fresh daily utilizing seasonal produce.
  2. Quality Assurance: Implement infection control principles and practices as per infection control policies, and complete charts/forms promptly and correctly as per duty list and Quality & Assurance Processes.
  3. Team Leadership: Work as an effective team leader by maintaining a positive attitude, respect, and communication with all members of the Catering team, and identify training needs and requirements of Catering Staff.
  4. Menu Planning: Develop and implement menus that meet the dietary needs of our residents, and ensure that all meals are well-presented and appealing.
  5. Supply Chain Management: Manage safe and correct processes in food purchasing, storage, handling, and preparation, and ensure that all food is stored and handled in accordance with food safety regulations.

Requirements:

  1. Certificate in Commercial Cookery: A Certificate in Commercial Cookery or equivalent is essential.
  2. Experience: Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a healthcare or aged care setting.
  3. Skills: Budget management, understanding of food audits, hotel/restaurant experience desirable but not essential, demonstrated ability to work within a multidisciplinary team, and effective time management and organisational skills.
