Job Summary

Mercy Hospitals Victoria Ltd is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse Midwife to join our team. As a Registered Nurse Midwife, you will play a vital role in delivering patient-centred care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in the delivery of patient and family-centred care within a safe environment
  • Ensure provision of care is within guidelines of the current policies and procedures of Mercy Hospitals Victoria Ltd
  • Provide ongoing patient assessment and monitoring
  • Involve patients and families in care planning and goal setting
  • Ensure appropriate referrals to other members of the interdisciplinary team as necessary
  • Provide education to mothers and family members
  • Accountable for your own nursing/midwifery practice within the guidelines as established by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Ensure mandatory and clinical competencies appropriate for your area of work are completed within designated timeframe

Requirements

  • Excellent clinical, time management, organisational and communication skills, with the ability to adapt and problem solve
  • A compassionate, flexible and positive approach to effective patient care and management
  • The ability to nurture friendly, respectful relationships and contribute to a collaborative team environment
  • A minimum of 2 years experience in Australia as a midwife
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
