About the Laboratory Technician Role
The ALS Laboratory in Canberra, Australia is seeking a Laboratory Technician to fill this casual position. This role involves working in a fast-paced laboratory environment conducting various tests and analyses.
Main Responsibilities:
- Sample Preparation: Prepare samples for testing using various techniques.
- Analysis of Water and Soils: Conduct chemical analysis on water and soil samples using instruments such as ICP-MS and ICP-OES.
- Result Entry: Accurately record and enter results into our Laboratory Information Management System.
- Maintaining Quality: Ensure that all work is completed in accordance with quality standards and safety protocols.
- Turn-around Requirements: Meet deadlines and turn-around requirements for clients.
Key Skills and Qualifications
For success in this role, we are looking for an individual who possesses excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, able to work effectively independently and in a team environment, and have a strong attention to detail. A focus on safety is also essential for this role.
