Job Title

Jet Aviation is seeking an experienced Technical Operations Manager to lead our Components & Avionics operations in Cairns.

The Technical Operations Manager will oversee the daily operations of our Components & Avionics Workshop, including specialised teams working in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), Composites, Paint, and Avionics.

  • Operational Leadership: Lead the operational performance of the Components & Avionics Workshop in Cairns, driving business results while promoting accountability and continuous learning.
  • People & Team Development: Coach, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, ensuring individuals take ownership of challenges and bring a solution-oriented mindset.
  • Business Management: Develop and manage workshop performance metrics, ensuring profitability targets are achieved.
  • Customer & Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a key point of contact for OEMs, regulatory bodies, partners, and internal stakeholders.
Requirements

We are seeking an individual with a proven track record within aviation maintenance, workshop management or technical operations, who can lead with empathy and clarity.

You are someone who values people development, takes ownership of challenges, and brings a solution-oriented mindset to everything you do.

The ideal candidate has:

  • Min 5 years experience in managing aviation workshop operations (Components, Avionics, or related technical areas).
  • Technical qualifications in aircraft systems/maintenance/avionics or related support trades.
  • A strong understanding of compliance requirements in regulated aviation environments.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, with experience managing cross-functional teams or technical departments.
