This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Safety Advisor, reporting to the Safety Manager. As a key member of our site-based, construction delivery team, you will contribute to the achievement of the project's Safety and Health Objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement initiatives that support our commitment to a safe working environment and align with our company values.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory, contractual, and safety management system obligations by monitoring and conducting regular safety audits and inspections.
  • Participate in the development of safe work method statements and provide guidance to project supervisors and personnel on safety processes and practices.
  • Monitor and report on safety compliance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Act as a coach and mentor to project supervisors and personnel, providing training and support to enhance their knowledge and skills in safety management.
  • Ensure that all safety-related actions, inspections, audits, and investigations are properly documented and followed up until closure.

Requirements

  • Relevant degree, diploma, or certificate in health and safety or a related field.
  • Previous experience as a safety professional in a construction environment, with a proven track record of implementing safety management systems.
  • Demonstrable experience in safety management system implementation, with a strong understanding of regulatory requirements.
  • Desirable qualifications include ICAM Lead Investigator or Taproot Incident Investigation certification.
  • Excellent inspection and report writing skills, with the ability to communicate complex safety information effectively.
