Job Opportunity: Facilities and Security Specialist

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the facilities of our Adelaide and Canberra offices, ensuring compliance with Defence security regulations.

About the Role:

  • Facilities Management: Oversee the maintenance of facilities, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and general maintenance.
  • Maintenance Programs: Develop and implement schedules to avoid downtime and maximise asset lifespan.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure Work Health and Safety and environmental regulations are met, manage workplace safety protocols, and conduct regular risk assessments and audits.
  • Budget and Resource Management: Manage operational budgets and resources, optimise processes to reduce costs, and support strategic goals through effective allocation of space, equipment, and services.
  • Security Clearance: Manage AGSVA security clearance vetting for individuals, including new applications, existing clearances, and DCAC applications.
  • Access Control: Manage access control systems, visitor management, and contractor compliance, ensuring secure handling of sensitive information and equipment.
  • Vetting Processes: Ensure vetting processes align with AGSVA standards, conduct risk assessments, provide mitigation strategies, and maintain compliance with government policies.
  • Leadership: Lead and supervise facilities and administrative staff, providing training, performance evaluations, and professional development.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in facilities management and security operations, ideally within the Defence or a similarly regulated industry.
  • Knowledge of Australian Defence security regulations, including the Defence Industry Security Program (DISP) and Defence Security Principles Framework (DSPF).
  • Experience in managing physical office spaces and coordinating maintenance and safety compliance.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and projects effectively, with strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience coordinating with external vendors and contractors.
  • Current or reinstatable Australian Defence security clearance (minimum NV1 level).
