Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our Research Development Team as a Senior Officer.

The successful candidate will have postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience, or a combination of relevant knowledge, training and/or extensive experience in higher education, research, industry or government. A PhD will be highly regarded.

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about supporting researchers and contributing to the growth and development of our research portfolio.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic advice to researchers on funding opportunities, including preparation, review and drafting of applications to ensure competitiveness and compliance with scheme requirements.
  • Identify sources of international and national funding opportunities that align with our research capabilities and coordinate their distribution and discussion among stakeholders.
  • Conduct assessments to determine researcher readiness for particular grant schemes and provide guidance on grant application strategies.
  • Develop and implement support processes and promote capability development training events to enhance researchers' skills and competencies.
  • Identify and develop initiatives to improve proposal preparation, industry engagement, research collaboration, budget formulation and management, and project management skills among researchers.

Requirements:

  • Postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience, or a combination of relevant knowledge, training and/or extensive experience in higher education, research, industry or government
  • Strong understanding of research funding schemes and competitive grants
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities
