Job Title:

Senior Research Development Officer

A full-time role that requires expertise in research development and commercial/contract research opportunities.

Job Description

This is a fixed term position for two years, based at either Griffith University Brisbane South (Nathan) or Gold Coast campus. You will work with academic staff to identify and develop successful grant applications, ensuring coordination of activities with the Office for Research, Griffith Enterprise, Griffith Graduate Research School, Advancement and Griffith International.

About You

The ideal candidate will have postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience in higher education, research, industry or government. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with an ability to work independently in a team environment are required. A good understanding of commercial research and consultancy work would be desirable.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide advice to researchers on specific funding opportunities, including the preparation, review and drafting of applications to ensure competitiveness.
  2. Identify sources of international and national funding opportunities and coordinate both the distribution of these opportunities and facilitate discussion of the opportunities to pursue.
  3. Undertake track record assessments to determine researcher readiness for particular grant schemes and provide grant application strategy advice to support their research ambitions.
  4. Develop and implement Early Career Researcher grant application support processes and promote capability development training events made available through the Researcher Education and Development team.
  5. Identify, develop and deliver initiatives to researchers to develop proposal preparation, industry engagement, research collaboration, budget formulation and management, and project management skills.
