We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our manufacturing team in Melbourne.

  • Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this role is responsible for overseeing and managing preventive and breakdown maintenance schedules.
  • The ideal candidate will take ownership of the site's maintenance strategy by planning, scheduling, and executing both preventive and reactive maintenance activities.
  • They will act as the owner of the site's SAP-based system, ensuring accurate asset records and maintenance history.
  • Additionally, they will coordinate daily maintenance operations and lead weekly planning meetings with production teams to align maintenance schedules with operational demands.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage both preventive and breakdown maintenance activities.
  • Take ownership of the site's maintenance strategy by planning, scheduling, and executing both preventive and reactive maintenance activities.
  • Act as the owner of the site's SAP-based system, ensuring accurate asset records and maintenance history.
  • Coordinate daily maintenance operations and lead weekly planning meetings with production teams to align maintenance schedules with operational demands.
  • Generate detailed weekly and monthly reports that track plan adherence, contractor performance, and completed work.
  • Manage the site's spare parts inventory to ensure critical components are always available when needed.

  • Ensure all contractor work complies with site health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies.
  • Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations for all significant equipment failures or recurring issues.
  • Implement corrective actions and report on RCA KPIs monthly.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline).
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a maintenance engineering role.
  • Experience with SAP or similar CMMS platforms.
  • Strong understanding of preventive and predictive maintenance.
  • Proven ability to manage contractors and maintenance budgets.
  • Familiarity with safety compliance and regulatory standards.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
