Job Title: Agricultural Operations Manager

110 Agri Farms Australia, a leading farming business, is seeking an experienced and skilled Agricultural Operations Manager to join our team.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and organized individual to oversee the day-to-day operations of our farm, including crop production, soil health, irrigation, equipment management, and pest control. The successful candidate will have excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders and regulatory bodies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Crop Production: Prepare and implement detailed crop production plans, including variety selection, planting schedules, and field location assignments to optimize yield and quality.
  • Soil Health and Fertilization: Monitor soil health and manage fertilization plans to ensure optimum growth conditions for vegetables.
  • Pest and Disease Management: Identify and control pest and disease threats through integrated pest management (IPM) strategies, minimizing chemical use.
  • Irrigation Management: Design and manage irrigation schedules and systems to conserve water and ensure adequate water supply to crops.
  • Harvesting and Quality Control: Oversee and coordinate the harvesting process to ensure produce is picked at optimal maturity, maintaining quality and reducing post-harvest losses.
  • Leadership and Training: Lead, train, and supervise farm staff and seasonal workers, promoting a safe, efficient, and positive work environment.
  • Financial Management: Prepare and manage the farm budget, including costs related to seeds, supplies, labor, and equipment.
  • Sustainability and Business Growth: Apply sustainable farming practices that enhance biodiversity, reduce environmental impact, and maintain soil health. Continuously work towards improving the farm's business growth and efficiency.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications and Experience: Farm management and agriculture experience, irrigation knowledge, and experience working on farms and with different vegetables and perennial crops.
  • Leadership and Communication Skills: Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
  • Education and Certifications: A qualification in agronomy/horticulture or equivalent is desirable but not essential.
What We Offer:
  • Competitive Salary: $70,000 - $75,000 per annum (or equivalent hourly rate) + superannuation.
  • Full-time Employment: 38 hours per week + additional hours.
