This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team of scientists in the Special Chemistry section at Liverpool Hospital.
As Senior Medical Laboratory Scientist In Charge, you will oversee the operation of the laboratory, ensuring high-quality diagnostic services in support of patient care.
You will be responsible for managing scientific, technical and support staff, all testing and associated activities and logistics for the assigned laboratory. The position oversees the quality, cost and operational integrity of the department, regulatory compliance and accreditation of laboratory services in the department, human resource management.
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor Degree or higher degree in Science/Medical Laboratory Science or an equivalent qualification, with subjects relevant to pathology from a recognised tertiary institution. They will also have experience in laboratory operations, administration and budgeting, as well as advanced knowledge of Pathology Laboratory Information Systems including supervision of e-based Quality Management Systems.
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced professional who can provide leadership and guidance to the team, and contribute to the advancement of public health through innovative laboratory practices.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Manage scientific, technical and support staff
- Oversee laboratory operations, quality and regulatory compliance
- Develop and implement new mass spectometry assays
- Provide leadership and guidance to the team
