Job Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to work as a Community Support Worker in the Barossa/Gawler region, providing personal care and household support to clients. You will work within a Consumer Directed Care model, assisting clients to remain living independently in their community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care to clients, including showering, bathing, toileting/continence management, and personal hygiene
  • Undertake household support tasks, such as vacuuming, dusting, polishing, and cleaning bathrooms/toilet areas
  • Assist with preparation and cooking of basic meals, and contribute to day centre activities, including transport and therapy services
  • Work autonomously in the community, with flexibility and a commitment to maintaining client confidentiality

Requirements

  • Holding a current driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle
  • Ability to work well within a team environment and communicate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Commitment to maintaining client confidentiality and displaying empathy towards the elderly and disabled

Selection Criteria

  • DHS Working With Children Check (WWCC)
  • DHS National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Worker Check
  • National Police Certificate (NPC) for employment involving unsupervised contact with vulnerable groups
