About the RoleWe are seeking multiple Signalling Construction Managers to join our team and expand our railway signalling capability across NSW and WA. Based in Sydney or Perth, you will work as part of a multi-skilled team to deliver various rail projects within Australia.
Key Responsibilities- Project Leadership: Provide support to the Project Manager/Project Leader to ensure client expectations are managed.
- Authority and Utility Management: Day-to-day management of all authorities and utilities interactions across the various phases of the project.
- Design Procurement Strategy: Develop with the PL and PEL an overall design procurement strategy to ensure consultants selected truly understand the key project drivers and can respond accordingly.
- Cost Planning: Engage cost planners as required to develop an overall cost plan for the project then work with them to develop the design in accordance with the project budget.
- Conversion Program Development: Support the PM/PL in developing an overall conversion program including project issues that relate to revenue, the client, authorities, design, procurement, and delivery of the project.
- Risk and Opportunity Identification: Identify and understand key risks and opportunities in all aspects of the project to optimise Laing O'Rourke's position.
- Client Reporting: Prepare the overall project client reporting documentation in a PCG format and attend PCG meetings.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure all works are completed in accordance with the client quality requirements and Australian standards/codes.
- Education: Degree in Engineering (preferably with a focus on Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Construction Management) or equivalent. Experience in delivering projects with multi-stakeholder interfaces.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years' experience in the Rail Signalling sector.
- Knowledge: Knowledge of Railway Engineering standards & specifications, modern signalling technology, signalling principles, and team management.
- Skills: Understanding of design, problem-solving capabilities, commercial acumen, and ability to communicate on all levels.
