We are seeking a skilled Visiting Medical Officer to join our team in providing clinical management and treatment of patients. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment, delivering high-quality patient care.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe Visiting Medical Officer will be responsible for:
- Providing clinical management and treatment of patients in a SWSLHD facility under their care.
- Working within the clinical privileges granted by the CE on the advice of the SWSLHD Medical and Dental Appointments Advisory Committee.
To be considered for this position, applicants must:
- Be a current medical practitioner registered, or eligible for registration, with the Medical Board of Australia.
- Demonstrate current clinical practice of a high standard and ability to adapt clinical practice in accordance with contemporary evidence-based best practice.
- Demonstrate commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management.
- Demonstrate participation in teaching and training at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level, including supervision of junior medical staff.
- Demonstrate commitment to continuing self-education and development, including participation in continuing medical education/continuing professional development.
- Be prepared to participate in hospital, service or LHD on-call roster, elective and emergency operations and collaborative cases (including ad hoc).
- Have evidence of ability to work cooperatively with other staff and practitioners in a multidisciplinary health care team.
- Hold current or future fellowship experience in microsurgery and oncology surgery (head & neck / lower limb / breast reconstruction, and complex cutaneous oncology surgery).
