Job Overview

The role of the Electrician/Instrument Technician is to provide maintenance and repair services for electrical systems, equipment, and components on a daily basis at our Kalgoorlie site.

Responsibilities include inspecting and testing electrical systems, identifying hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment and repair, assisting in development of maintenance plans, and ensuring compliance with relevant electrical regulations and industry standards.

Our ideal candidate will have a WA Electrical Workers Licence - A Grade, dual qualifications in Electrical Trades and Instrument Technician, and a minimum 3 years experience in a similar fixed plant role in a mining environment.

They will also possess strong instrumentation background, including calibration and maintenance of control systems, and be competent in electrical schematics, isolation, and permitting systems.

Additionally, the successful candidate will have high-level electrical fault-finding skills, ability to conduct risk assessment and manage risk, and hold Industry certificates such as High Risk Work License and Elevated Work Platform.

  • Work towards planned maintenance and inspection activities on a daily basis to maintain all fixed plant and site infrastructure
  • Inspect and test electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment and repair
  • Assist in the development of maintenance plans
  • Assist in planning for shutdowns
  • Provide electrical service for unplanned maintenance and breakdowns
  • Undertake fault finding and take corrective actions
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant electrical regulations, industry standards, and statutory requirements
  • Ensure that plant and equipment is maintained to a high level of availability
  • Support the maintenance planning function by providing accurate information via completion of work orders and inspection reports and other relevant feedback
