Job Overview

The Head of Fleet plays a pivotal role in meeting the organisation's operational transport needs by fostering strategic partnerships with Council service areas to enhance their offerings through best practice and innovative transport logistics.

This leadership position involves the implementation of contemporary fleet lifecycle management programs, encompassing asset planning, procurement, maintenance, and disposal, while contributing to sustainability goals through diverse transportation options.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Fleet team to deliver high-quality lifecycle programs
  • Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide specialist management advice to optimise fleet operations
  • Develop and implement fleet strategy and policy
  • Maintain professional relationships and prepare technical reports

Excellent oral and written communication abilities are necessary, along with a demonstrated capacity to influence, motivate, and develop staff, contractors, and suppliers. Proficiency in using and administering fleet management software is also a key requirement.
